Hole 1: 247 yards, Par 4.

From the 1st tee it is a straight drive over a rough area and burn to a large green shared with hole 3. Wayward tee shots to the left will attract rough, gorse bushes and the beach beyond. There is however plenty of room to land the ball to the centre or right of the fairway. The area between the dip at the front of the 6th green and the burn can often be boggy hence a local rule is in place should your ball plug in this area allowing relief without penalty.
